Bedulu Village

Bedulu is a village where the famous 11th century Elephant Cave or known as Goa Gajah located. It is around 26 kilometer northeast of Denpasar, proximity to Ubud and on the banks of the Petanu River.

Bedulu village is surrounded with Bali's most interesting and ancient wonders including Gunung Kawi and the Yeh Pulu carvings. The famous Kecak Dance was also created here in 1930s. There is also a museum called Museum Gedung Arca with the collections of archeological items in which reflect Balinese historical and cultural development.

The most famous Ubud's artist, I Gusti Nyoman Lempad was born here and builds many of Bedulu's temple gates and shrines. To get to Bedulu take the road from Denpasar via Sukawati and Sakah; then shortly before Ubud, at Teges, take a road on the right.
